Farewell Party for the Year 2004 Hosted by CUBS

The year-end party for CUBS sponsors was held in 25th of Novermber, 2004.  This event was designed to bring all the supporting members together to reflect this year and welcome the upcoming year.  Despite the recent cold weather and other businesses, a large number of members attended this event.

The former first part was started at 6:30 as co-representative Yu, Se-hee, prof. of Hanyang University made opening remarks, followed by the introduction of all the guests and celebrating comments from Advisor, Kim, Jinhyun and Cogressman, Kim, Sukjun.

After briefing on the activities of CUBS in 2004 by distributing handouts, CUBS provided prizes for Yu, Seungmin and Kim, Kihyun (Grand National Party) and Kim, Chunjin and Wu, Jechang (Open Our Party), who were appointed as congressmen with high performance by CUBS monitoring of National Assembly.  Throughout this activity, CUBS paid close and through attention to the performance of National Assembly members, and based on this, appointed the four as desirable congressmen in each permanent committee after assessing sincerity and professionalism.

In addition, CUBS made time to appreciate active participation and help from its members.  It thanked Lee, Wonsu, a cartoonist of New York Times Syndicate, for his contribution to its monthly magazines, Kim, Jonghoon, the head of Hanmi Parsons for his commitment to social donation and Lee, Sihoon, the representative of Deris Co. for the issuance of the magazines.  Besides, contributions of Sim, Jaehun, the head of the mountain climbing club, 'Moi Sarang' and Choi, Chulho, the president of University Student Academy and Ju, Sabbyul, the head of voluntary workers were appreciated.

The first part was closed with the performance of the play, named "The Political Circle, Go and Stop!", which satirized the current political situation, appealing to the audience.  In the following second part, delicious dinner was provided for the members with Samulnori, the Korean traditional percussion quartet.

At the end of the event, some participants were given president by drawing lots. All the attendants picked gold-colored pigs in the baskets, which bore a number inside.  The participants caught their breath, watching the numbers called.  The hall was full of expectation, excitement and laughs.

The moment of drawing lots and giving presents drew attention form the audience and provide much pleasure of just being on the spot, regardless of their gaining presents. This was the end of the event. CUBS provided rice cakes and gift sets sponsored by Sampyo Co. for each attendant when they left.

CUBS greatly thanks the members for their participation in this year end sponsorship event.  We are also thankful of other members who were absent there because of other engagements.  We will do our best next year to return your continuous support and attention.  We wish you a happy new year with great luck.
